Not as good a read as I was expecting, main reason I bought it was because I grew up with people calling me Phyllis Diller because my first name is Phyllis; so I was mostly just curious about her in a sense. But now I see that we don't have too much in common! Haha.
Remember this from when a kid and still laugh wildly at it.
This book is so funny, I can only put it down long enough to tell you how funny it is. I just ordered another copy for a friend.
I read this over 40 years ago and thought it was funny then. I bought it for my daughter who is in college and she thought it was good too.
Very funny book written by one of the great comic geniuses of our time.

Ms. Diller's humorous, only slightly over-the-top observations of keeping up appearances among the over-zealous (those who enjoy domesticity) belongs up there with the books of Erma Bombeck and Betty McDonald.
